On July 22, at approximately 3:43 PM, the New Hampshire State Police responded to a single vehicle collision on Route 123 in Walpole in the area of the Walpole Transfer Station. The initial investigation revealed that a 1977 Chevrolet Corvette was traveling north on Route 123 when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and impacted a large tree. The vehicle was operated by Raymond J. Gosetti, 19, Langdon, NH. Gosetti was transported to the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Zachary Ledrew, 19, Walpole, NH. Ledrew was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon via air ambulance. Ledrew suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries. “Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the collision,” said the New Hampshire State Police in a press release. Gosetti has been charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and was released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment in Cheshire County Superior Court. Route 123 was closed in this area for several hours while the scene was investigated, said the NHSP. The NH State Police were assisted on scene by the Walpole Police Department, the Marlow Police Department, the Bellows Falls, VT Police Department, the Walpole Fire Department, and Diluzio Ambulance Service.
