Tom Rondeau passed unexpectedly at his home on September 18, 2017, while working on his classic Mustang.
Tom leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Susan; his son Joshua Rondeau and wife Emily of Charlestown, NH; his daughter Hillary Emick and husband Jeremy of Johnson, VT; and his eight grandchildren: Elijah, Harley, Azalea, Seamus, Makayla, Shane, Oliver and Christopher. He is also survived by two brothers, Armand Rondeau of Plainfield, NH, and Paul Rondeau of Florida.
He was predeceased by his brother Nelson Rondeau and his sister Theresa Brooks.
Thomas Joseph Rondeau was born in Windsor, VT, on August 4, 1951, to Armand Rondeau and Blanche Howard Rondeau. He grew up in Cornish, NH. Tom served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was a skilled machinist and mechanic. He was known for his self-reliance and his ability to fix anything. He spent much of his life raising sled dogs and lived for the winter season when you’d find him mushing in the woods with his huskies. Tom enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton and classic rock and roll. He spent his time after his retirement on home improvement, working on his classic cars, and working in his garden and raising chickens, always with his beloved canine companion Arlo by his side.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held Saturday, September 23, at 11 am at the gazebo at Patch Park in Charlestown, NH. Please bring your memories of Tom, a chair and a dish to share. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
