Shirley Ann Leonard ( Sue ) of 7 Heritage Dr, Claremont, NH, died February 28, 2019, at Elmwood Center in Claremont. She was born in Claremont on May 24, 1947, to Shirley Irene Tierney and Roger Renaldo Leonard, the third of four children.
She was predeceased by her parents, and older sister Mary Leonard Howard.
She is survived by two brothers, Olliver (Diane) and Wayne (Darlene) and their families, nieces and nephews.
Shirley worked in the local mills, and with her husband James Bosworth raised and showed Purebred Morgan horses at Autumn Lane. She was proud of the many awards and ribbons won by her horses. Shirley was also well known for her contributions to her Church Ladies groups, be it from baking or the many crafts she donated to raise money for the children or missions.
She was an avid quilter, a maker of dozens of counted cross stitch and needlework samplers, and numerous knitted and crocheted articles of clothing and afghans.
At Sugar River Mills she was a member of the SAVVY SENIORS, a group that knits, crochets, and looms items to donate to the community. Their handmade items go to the United Way Winter Clothing Drive; the V.A; a number of Cancer Centers like Norris Cotton and Cheshire County; C.H.A.D; the Pregnancy Center of the Upper Valley; several birthing centers and more.
There are no calling hours, or funeral at this time. Her ashes will be interred in Childs Cemetery in Cornish on May 24, 2019.
