Richard Arthur Bonneville, a.k.a. Ricardo Archibald Bonnevillo, passed away peacefully late Sunday afternoon on February 24, 2019, in the company of his wife Lorraine and daughter, Mary, after a short period of failing health.
He was born on June 4, 1933 in Claremont, NH, the son of Wilfred and Helen (Mezykowski) Bonneville. His surviving family includes his wife of 62 ½ years, Lorraine (Genewicz) Bonneville; his daughters, Pamela Desharnais and husband Real, of Claremont, NH; Marcia Klungler and husband Scott, West Lebanon, NH; and Mary Routhier and husband Keith of Claremont, NH. He was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by two step-siblings, Sheila (George) Moore and Richard George and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter and his two siblings, Raymond and Beverly.
Richard served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956. He was part of the Navy Patrol Squadron VP-28, Crew 9 from 1953-1954 and Patrol Squadron 28 from 1954-1955. He was stationed in Alaska, Hawaii and Japan. He often spoke of his time in the service and was proud to have served his country. An electrician by trade, he worked for TV Specialists upon returning from the service. After that job ended, he worked in the maintenance department at Goodyear and Dartmouth Woolen. Richard was an aviation enthusiast, he loved traveling to the coast of Maine, and he enjoyed working on projects side by side with his wife. He had a joyful heart and had a joke for anyone who passed by. “Greetings and Hallucinations” was his standard salutation. It brought smiles to many faces.
There will be no visiting hours. A private family ceremony, to include burial at sea, will take place in the spring.
You are invited to share a memory of Richard with the family or leave a message of condolence in the family guest book at www.royfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roy Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
