Norman H. Lessard, 77, of Claremont, NH, passed away on September 3, 2017, losing his battle with diabetes and brain cancer.
He was born in Milford, MA, on March 10, 1940 the son of Gedon and Anna (Simoneau) Lessard.
Norm was a graduate of St. Mary High School in the class of 1959. After graduation, he served in the US Air Force.
He married Claire Potvin on May 31, 1980.
He started the construction company Lessard Builders in 1980. In 1998, Norm and Claire opened NCL Engraving and Awards where he worked until his retirement in 2013.
Norm had reorganized the St. Mary Alumni in 1980 and was with that for 20+ years. A big part of his life was with the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree. He had received many honors and awards throughout his life, including Knight of the Year, Family of the Year, Grand Knight recognition.
He was also instrumental in the completion of the Claremont Skateboard Park.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Lessard; one brother, Henry Lessard; two sisters, Irene Bunnell and Cecile Bedard and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, Maurice Lessard, Alice Lessard, Claire Lessard, Theresa Barry, Simone Birmingham and Rita Lacasse Scott and Robert Lessard.
Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Tuesday, September 5th, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Church in Claremont on Wednesday morning, September 6th, at 10 AM with Very Rev. Father Shawn Therrien, officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary Cemetery in Claremont.
