Marion K. Roy, 103, formerly of Charlestown, NH, died on August 13, 2016, at Elm Wood Center in Claremont. She was born in North Walpole on September 14, 1912, the oldest child of George W. and Margaret (Jardine) Kiniry. Marion enjoyed playing golf, crocheting, bridge club, bingo and traveling. She was proud she had made it to 49 states. She had received the Boston Post Cane for Charlestown. She was a communicant of St Catherine’s Church. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Blake of Bellows Falls, VT; sister-in-law, Julia Kiniry of Springfield, VT, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Roy whom she married on September 17, 1935; her parents and14 brothers and sisters, Alice Spinelli, Jean Torrey, Malcolm Kiniry, Edward Kiniry, Francis Kiniry, William Kiniry, Daniel Kiniry, George Kiniry, Julia Kiniry, Doris Seavey, Elizabeth Stanford, Anne Dexter, Ellen Kiniry and Margaret Kiniry. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Charlestown on Saturday, August 20th at 10 AM with Father John Loughnane and her nephew, Father Peter Blake co-officiating. Interment will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice. The Stringer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
