James C. Marsh, 70, of River Street in Charlestown, NH, died Sunday (October 15, 2017) at his home following a period of failing health.
He was born in Hartland, VT, on December 12, 1946, the son of Clyde and Edith (Stevens) Marsh and had been a longtime area resident. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. James had been employed by Granite State Plastics in Manchester, NH, American Brush in Claremont, NH and Whelen Mfg. in Charlestown, NH. Recently he enjoyed playing the guitar, going for drives in the car and watching Fox News. In earlier years he also enjoyed fishing, running and hiking. James was also a licensed minister.
Members of his family include his fiancé, Verna “Pixie” Perron, Charlestown, NH; four sons, James Marsh II and his companion, Shannon O’Connor, Newport, NH; Joshua Marsh and his wife, Alycia, Wilmington, DE; Michael Marsh and his fiancé, Rene Bailey, Newport, NH; Joseph Marsh and his wife, Gina, UT; eight grandchildren, Michaela Marsh, Oliver Marsh, Wren Marsh, Darwin Marsh, Misty Marsh, Eli Marsh, August Marsh, Wesley Marsh, two brothers, Clyde Marsh, Croydon, NH; Richard Marsh, Charlestown, NH; a sister, Pat Abbott and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Mark Marsh, a brother, Paul Marsh and two sisters Linda Marsh and Lucille Marsh. Funeral services were held on Friday (Oct. 20) at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, NH with David Ackerman, officiating. Interment with military honors followed in Mountain View Cemetery.
